What Stourhead actually is

Getting there from Bath
The drive is straightforward, around 23 miles and 36 minutes down the A36 and A303 corridor. There's no direct public transport link from Bath. The closest realistic option without a car is training to Warminster and taking a taxi on from there, a combination that takes roughly 50 minutes and costs in the region of £30 to £50 for the taxi leg, so it only makes sense if you're not driving at all. In practice, most visitors either drive themselves, share a taxi for the return trip, or book a tour that bundles transport with entry.
